This blog post is my first in a series of posts about AdWords Editor, leading up to my webinar “AdWords Editor 101.” It is important for anyone doing AdWords Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising to have an understanding of what exactly Editor is and how it works. Editor is a tool that makes every aspect of managing an AdWords account easier. Topics to be covered in this series will be:
Let’s begin with a brief introduction about AdWords Editor. Editor is an application that anyone can download onto their computer and use to manage an AdWords account. One of the main features of Editor is that it allows advertisers to make changes to campaigns while working offline. It is simple to use and very easy to navigate. Advertisers can make individual changes one at a time or make multiple changes to several campaigns at once.
AdWords Editor allows advertisers to make bulk changes to an account without immediately making the changes live. This way, advertisers can put all changes into Editor, then wait to post the changes until they are ready. Advertisers may need to wait for budget or ad copy approval, but editor allows them make changes ahead of time, then go live immediately after getting approval. Making changes live is also very simple and happens with the click of a button ( “Post Selected Changes”).
To get started, download AdWords Editor for free from Google. Click on the “Download AdWords Editor” button pictured and choose either Windows or Mac depending on the type of computer you are using.
