Digital Marketing Forum 2011 Has Begun

This week I am psyched to be at the MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Forum in Austin, Texas!  (Although don’t even get me started on the freak cold front that apparently blew into town at the precise moment I landed with delusional fantasies of sandal-weather in my head…)  But even if the temperature is a bit of a let-down, the conference itself promises to be full of great insights.

For me, Digital Marketing Forum offers a great opportunity to hear about the latest trends in other online marketing channels besides my area of expertise (Search Engine Marketing).  And that familiarity with a breadth of marketing disciplines is important for any marketer; in my experience, SEO invariably intersects with the email marketing/PR/lead generation projects that clients may already be engaged in.  There is almost always room for integration of Search with other marketing efforts.

Unseasonably icy weather aside- Austin is a great city and I’m super excited to be here blogging the DMF sessions.  If you’re aothert the conference, you should stop by and meet Avelyn and Justin over at the Search Mojo booth in the exhibit hall.  And be sure to catch Janet Miller’s session on SEO and Social Media.

If you’re not at DMF [freezing your butt off] in person, check back here at Search Marketing Sage periodically for session recaps from Janet, Amanda, and me.  Here’s the lineup of what I’ll be blogging about over the next couple days:

  • Avoiding common email marketing mistakes
  • Improving email relevancy to readers
  • Segmenting website users based on intent
  • Going deeper into web analytics
  • Taking full advantage of video assets
  • Social media case studies galore!

And y’all be sure to follow the conference hashtag #mpforum on Twitter for up-to-the-minute tidbits and sound bites.

All right, Austin.  Let’s get this hoedown started…
