    SlideFinder Terms of Service

    These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (either an individual or a legal entity, referred to as "User," "you," or "your") and Marketing Mojo ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the SlideFinder Google Workspace Add-on (the "Add-on" or "Service").

    By installing, deploying, accessing, or using SlideFinder through the Google Workspace Marketplace, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization, company, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not have such authority or do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Service.

    1. Description of the Service

    SlideFinder is a Google Workspace Add-on designed to search, preview, and organize Google Slides presentations stored within your Google Drive environment. The Add-on provides functionality including, but not limited to:

    • Full-text parsing and search indexing of slide contents and speaker notes.
    • Recursive directory traversal across designated Google Drive folders and subfolders.
    • Visual preview generation using Google Slides API thumbnail rendering.
    • Automated indexing notifications dispatched to your verified email address.
    • Index maintenance and metadata storage within a designated, user-owned Google Sheet database (.slidefinder_index_data).

    2. Technical Architecture and Data Isolation

    SlideFinder is built on Google Apps Script and executes directly within your Google Workspace execution environment:

      • Client-Side/In-Tenant Processing: SlideFinder processes your data within your Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Sheets account context. Marketing Mojo does not transfer, host, aggregate, or store your slide text, notes, presentation metadata, or file indices on any third-party external server.
      • User-Controlled Storage: All indexed slide data, snippets, and directory paths generated by the Service reside exclusively inside your Google account within your private .slidefinder_index_data spreadsheet.
      • Google API Compliance: SlideFinder’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy
    , including the Limited Use requirements.

     

    3. Account Requirements and OAuth Permissions

    To operate SlideFinder, you must possess a valid, active Google Workspace or personal Google account.

     

    Required Authorizations

    The Service requires you to grant explicit OAuth permissions to perform its core functions:

     

    • Google Drive (drive): To traverse selected folders, inspect file metadata, and locate Google Slides files.
    • Google Sheets (spreadsheets): To create, update, and manage your private search index repository.
    • Google Slides (presentations): To parse slide content, text structures, and speaker notes, and to fetch slide thumbnail previews.
    • Gmail / Mail (gmail.send, script.send_mail): To transmit automated completion alerts and status summaries directly to your authenticated email.
    • Script / External Requests (scriptapp, external_request): To execute scheduled background crawl jobs and communicate with authorized Google REST API endpoints.
    You may revoke these permissions at any time via your Google Account Third-Party Security Settings. Revoking permissions will immediately cease Add-on functionality.

     

    4. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

    You agree to use SlideFinder only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree that you will not:

     

    • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive the source code of the Add-on.
    • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on Google APIs or services through automated scripts, rate tampering, or abusive sync frequencies.
    • Use the Service to process, search, or index materials that infringe any intellectual property, privacy, proprietary, or contractual rights of any third party.
    • Circumvent or modify any security controls, authentication mechanisms, or scope gates implemented in the Service or Google Workspace platform.
    You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and consents from your organization to index and preview presentations within the designated Drive folders.

     

    5. Intellectual Property Rights

    • Company IP: Marketing Mojo retains all right, title, and interest in and to SlideFinder, including all software, source code, user interface designs, branding, logos, trademarks, and documentation, including any improvements, updates, or modifications thereto.
    • User Content: You retain all right, title, and interest in and to your presentations, slide text, images, speaker notes, Google Drive directory data, and indexed files. Marketing Mojo claims no ownership, license, or proprietary interest in your content.

    6. Service Availability and Quotas

    • Platform Dependencies: SlideFinder operates as an extension of the Google Workspace ecosystem and is subject to Google Cloud Platform constraints, including Google Apps Script execution time limits (e.g., 6-minute single-execution ceilings), UrlFetch daily quotas, and Google Slides API rate limits.
    • Modifications & Downtime: We reserve the right to modify, enhance, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Add-on at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation, particularly during Google platform outages or API updates.

    7. Disclaimer of Warranties

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, SLIDEFINDER IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.

     

    MARKETING MOJO EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

     

    • WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
    • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, OR COMPREHENSIVENESS OF ANY SEARCH RESULTS, METADATA PARSING, OR THUMBNAIL RENDERING.
    • WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURELY, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE DETECTED OR CORRECTED.

    8. Limitation of Liability

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MARKETING MOJO, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

     

    • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES;
    • LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, REPUTATION, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS;
    • DAMAGES RESULTING FROM DATA LOSS, SPREADSHEET CORRUPTION, DELAY IN OPERATION, INCOMPLETE SEARCH RESULTS, OR UNAVAILABILITY OF GOOGLE WORKSPACE APIS.
    IN ALL CASES, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF MARKETING MOJO ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF SLIDEFINDER SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO MARKETING MOJO FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50.00 USD), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

     

    9. Indemnification

    You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Marketing Mojo, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

     

    • Your access to or use of the Service;
    • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation;
    • Any claim that content indexed or searched by you through the Service infringes or violates the rights of any third party.

    10. Termination

    • By You: You may terminate your agreement to these Terms at any time by uninstalling SlideFinder from the Google Workspace Marketplace and deleting your generated .slidefinder_index_data spreadsheet.
    • By Marketing Mojo: We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, in the event of any material breach of these Terms, non-compliance with Google policies, or if required to do so by law.
    • Survival: Sections 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.

    11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them or the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

     

    Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located within the Commonwealth of Virginia, and each party irrevocably submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

     

    12. Changes to These Terms

    We may update or revise these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be updated. Continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to the modifications.
